Well I must be on my way now. I ain't got the future figured out. So long ago I wrote it down, then time tore all the pages out. And the thrill is gone, still I'm moving on. And I'll miss this town, but breaking out is better than hanging around.

So I'm wandering on the way now. Don't you ask me how I'm making out. Cause this place it ain't too safe for sound, and the foulest plays have turned about. But I'll write these wrongs into another song. Yeah I've been shut down, but playing out is better than hanging around.

So I'll set my sights on finding work tonight. I might be shot down, but burning out, flaming out, playing out and breaking down is better than hanging around.
